Wedding Photographers & Filmmakers in Marbella
Marbella does glamour better than anywhere on the Costa del Sol: yachts in Puerto Banús, white hotels along the Golden Mile, beach clubs that turn gold at sunset. The weddings we remember here are the ones that also felt real. We’re Diego and Tamara, a husband-and-wife team of photographers and filmmakers based half an hour away in Estepona. We tell your Marbella wedding in photos and film, without staging it.
Check your date Marbella has two faces, and the best wedding days use both. One is the coast: 28 km of beaches with Sierra Blanca rising behind them, beach clubs and hotel gardens that run down to the sand.
The other is the Old Town. Whitewashed lanes, blue flowerpots and orange trees around the Plaza de los Naranjos, laid out in the 16th century.
We like moving between the two: cava by the pool, then ten quiet minutes on the beach. The glamour is the setting; what we photograph is the people in it.
We also photographed Patricia & Arndt at Casa de la Era, in Marbella.
In June 2026, Ana & Borja married at the Iglesia de la Encarnación, in front of a green and gold altarpiece, and drove on in a dark green Jaguar to Finca Villa Palma, with palms, lawns and the hills behind.
When to get married in Marbella
May, June, September and October are the sweet spot: warm days, cooler evenings and a long golden hour. In July and August the coast averages 30–31 °C, and the terral, a hot wind from inland, can push it towards 40 °C. For a summer wedding, plan the ceremony for 18:00 or later.
Sunset shifts a lot over the season: around 21:40 in late June, 20:30 in mid-September and 19:45 by mid-October. We build your timeline backwards from it.
Check the calendar before you book. Easter week (21–28 March 2027) fills the Old Town with processions. The Feria de San Bernabé takes over the town in mid-June, around the 11th. From mid-June to late August, Starlite concert nights at the Nagüeles quarry can mean heavier traffic and higher hotel prices.
Getting to Marbella, and where your guests can stay
Málaga Airport is 35–55 minutes away, with direct flights from more than 20 UK airports, Belfast included, and from Dublin, Cork and Knock. Gibraltar is about an hour away and handy for flights from London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham.
There’s no train to Marbella, so book transfers, and in July and August allow extra time around San Pedro and Puerto Banús, where evening traffic crawls. The AP-7 toll road is quicker.
For guests: five-star hotels on the Golden Mile, nightlife in Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía, boutique hotels in the Old Town, quieter beach resorts in Elviria and Cabopino. Marrying at Barbillón? Stay in San Pedro or Guadalmina.
Marbella Town Hall even has its own wedding department, Marbella de Boda. Most UK and Irish couples, though, sign at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here. For an English-speaking church, there’s an Anglican church in San Pedro de Alcántara. More in our FAQ.
