The hacienda

Hacienda San José is a traditional Spanish hacienda in Mijas, with views over the Mijas hills. The ceremony and the whole celebration take place here, in its gardens.

It has ten en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 24, so the couple and their closest family can stay on site. The hacienda has its own catering team.

The address is Camino Diseminado Entrerríos, 29650 Mijas (Málaga).

Our favourite spots and the best light

The tower is the place we always go back to. Its twin arches frame a couple full-length with palm trees behind, and its windows look out over the Mijas hills.

Next comes the cypress avenue above the valley. At golden hour we go out to the dry meadow and the country lane, with the white tower behind.

The garden ceremony faces the mountains. After dark the courtyard fills with festoon lights for the first dance.
