The garden

Finca Botania is an open-air wedding estate in the Montes de Málaga, about fifteen minutes from the city centre. It has more than 30,000 m² of garden, with palms, fountains and jungle-like walkways.

Civil ceremonies take place at Altos del Alba, by a fountain. El Algarrobo, named after its carob tree, works for the ceremony, drinks or dinner and takes up to 450 guests. There is also a marquee of more than 300 m².

Catering is by Alabardero, the estate's only caterer. It is open all year, and there are no rooms on site, so guests stay in Málaga.

What we photographed and filmed here

In September 2024 we photographed and filmed Taina and François’s wedding. The ceremony was on a lawn, in front of an arch of orange roses and pampas grass, and they walked back down the aisle under a shower of petals, with palms all around.

For their portraits we stayed in the garden, among fan palms and gravel paths. The palm leaves make a natural frame.

Dinner was on the gravel under the trees, at a long table with greenery and orange flowers and fairy lights overhead. Then the dance floor filled with coloured light.
