The club

The Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is a golf club on Paseo del Parque, in Sotogrande (San Roque, Cádiz). It opened in 1964, at the heart of the new Sotogrande estate.

Its course was Robert Trent Jones’s first in Europe, and one of his five favourites. It lies just 150 metres from the Mediterranean, among cork oaks, pines and palm trees.

What we photographed here

Lucía and Javier married at Nuestra Señora de la Merced and came on to the club for the reception. Before dinner we took them onto the course, with palm trees along the fairway and the sky turning gold.

Cocktails were on the lawn at blue hour, under tall palm trees. Dinner was under a tent with rattan lamps, fairy lights and candles, and friends tied red neckerchiefs embroidered with the couple’s names.

Then the dancing moved to a wooden floor in the open air, among the palms, and the guests threw the bride and groom into the air.
